Stating that people with a ‘flat nose’ should take selfies from the sides, and those with a ‘small nose’ should take selfies from a side angle, Yildirim also gave information about how people with an eagle-like nose, a nose with droopy tip or a curvature should look at the objective when taking a selfie.
Selfie poses that have brought innovation to the world of photography, which are always a topic of conversation, have become the most popular poses of the last period. However, such photos taken without the need for anyone’s help reveal many defects of the face, when taken from a wrong angle.
Especially selfies taken without taking into consideration the nasal hump and size of our nose, the most characteristic region of our face, can make people unhappy.
Is it possible to take the right selfie by taking into consideration the nose structure?
“TAKE SELFIES FROM THE ANGLE, TOWARDS WHICH THE NOSE DEVIATES”
Surgeon Dr. Alpaslan Yildirim, an experienced figure in the field of rhinoplasty, explained the tips for taking the best selfie photos, according to the type of the nose and even the regions.
“In selfie photos, the most attention-grabbing organ is undoubtedly the nose because it is right in the middle of our face. It is always in harmony with the eyes and the lips” Yildirim said, and warned the people with nasal hump saying that when patients with nasal hump take selfie from the front, their nasal hump does not come into prominence too much, and when especially those who have a nose known as ‘Caucasian nose’ take selfie from the sides, their humps become considerably noticeable, and this is why those who have such a nose should not take selfie from the sides.
Stating that people with a crooked nose look different in one of their photos taken from the right and left angles in particular, Yildirim said “In general, people with a crooked should prefer a full side profile, or if they want to take a selfie from a side angle, it would be more suitable to take it from the side, towards which the nose deviates. If the photo is taken from the opposite side of the deviation, the nose will look worse in that photo.”
PEOPLE WITH A FLAT NOSE SHOULD TAKE FROM THE SIDES, AND THOSE WITH A SMALL NOSE FROM A SIDE ANGLE,
Yildirim stated that people with a wide or flat nose have usually big nostrils but there are certain methods that enable them to minimize this when taking selfies. Yildirim warned those who want to conceal the bigness of their nostrils when taking selfies, saying that they should never take photo from the front, and that it would make more sense for people with such a nose to prefer a full side profile or take selfies from side angles.
Emphasizing that people with a small nose in comparison with their face should not take selfies from neither full front nor full side profile, Yildirim said “Each nose has a certain length and width ratio. A small nose is where this ratio is most noticeable. Therefore, people with a small nose in comparison with their face will get better results if they take selfies from side angles.”
TO THE ATTENTION OF THOSE WHO NEED A REVISION
Surgeon Dr. Alpaslan Yildirim also gave information about the tips for taking selfie to people, who have previously undergone a plastic surgery, after which their nostrils have become more noticeable: “If people who need a revision take photos from sides or below, the resultant images will be unlikeable. It is because the nostrils viewed from the front do not constitute a nice image. For such people, it would be better to use a little bit side angles. On the other hand, a patient with a droopy nasal tip should not use side angles too much. The result will be a better if they take selfies from the front.”
